Dakota is a 48 foot Ocean Super Sport Yacht Fisher. Her slip is in the picturesque Marina San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. Powered by two 671 turbo diesels @ 485 H.P. each, this charter yacht will get you to the fish, the islands, or across the Sea of Cortez to the Baja in style.

 

 

She has a two stateroom layout; the master berth is forward with private head, shower and queensize walk-around bed. The second stateroom is to portwith twin berths that convert into a king bed and a fold out single berth above, and second full head that shares with companionway. Galley is down, with all the amenities including stove, oven, microwave, central vacuum, trash compactor, disposal, washer/dryer, and full fridge/freezer. Dakota is heated or cooled with two A/C units.

 

The salon is huge! Full wet bar, ice maker, and entertainment center has XM, CD, DVD, VCR, TV, all surround sound, accompanied with an L-dinette table, two overstuffed leather chairs & leather convertible settee that converts into a bed completed with white carpet, and polished teak. The fly bridge is loaded! There are two custom helm chairs, and comfort seating for 10,  auto pilot , radar , GPS, VHF, chart plotter, color fish finder , sea-temp gauge, icemaker, and the perfect place to spot your billfish, or photograph sunsets, vista’s, dolphin’s, and whales.
 

The awning shaded cockpit has two Black Widow outriggers, all Shimano gear for a large game fish spread, live bait tank, sink, eight foot floor fish box, fresh and salt water wash downs, and cockpit controls for backing downon the big one’s, and a huge freezer/fridge for the days catch & refreshments.

 

Dakota has an onboard Bauer dive compressor, tank holders,  compartment for fins and weights, freshwater wash down & sink, a hot shower for the cold night dives soft weights, full tanks, and a great teak swim platform through the transom door for easy access into the greatest diving in the world.

Located on the bow of the Dakota is a 12 foot, hard bottom 15 HP safety boat. Lowered quickly into the sea by the davit crane, the crew can shuttle you to shore to explore the beach, rock caves, and estuaries or to a favorite local beach Palapa Bar like the “Soggy Peso Bar” located by Deer Island where you can enjoy cold drinks and crab tostadas, or Rafael’s Greek “La Palapa” bar/restaurant where you can relax and have the best ribs, lamb, and an ice cold drink on the white sandy beaches of Mexico.

Sonia Andrade grew up in Guaymas and moved to San Carlos when she was 19, where she enjoyed the Yacht Club, helping Rescate, and yachting. Sonia moved to Burlington Washington where she worked as a certified translator, raising daughter Karely, and graduating from college. Sonia spent summers and holidays following her dreams on the ocean, sailing and yachting the Sea of Cortez. Sonia has been to the San Juan Islands from Washington, thru Canadian waters, to Alaska’s Prince Williams Sound, and back.

David Rothschiller grew up in Carrington North Dakota around cattle and horses, dreaming of scuba, fishing, and the ocean; David moved to Phoenix Arizona and became a commercial concrete contractor. Following his dreams he got his PADI dive master certification and quickly learned the hot spot to dive was in San Carlos.  September of 2003 Sonia and Dave meet when they were vacationing in San Carlos and have been together ever since.
March of 2003 they purchased the Dakota in Dana Point Calif., and then brought her home to San Carlos.  Their addiction to ocean living and the friendly people of San Carlos had them enjoying all spare time off south of the boarder, discovering The Sea of Cortez and San Carlos for themselves. David sold his concrete business January of 2007, and with his children David Isaac, Miranda, Adam and Derek all grown up, allowed them the opportunity to move to San Carlos to share their mutual passion for sport fishing, diving, cruising, and the Sea of Cortez on the Dakota with you.
